The Mardome Trade Opening Polycarbonate Rooflight is an opening rooflight designed to provide natural daylight and controlled ventilation for commercial and industrial flat roofs. This model is used where airflow is required through manual or powered opening. A separate fixed polycarbonate rooflight is available for applications where ventilation is not required.
Opening Polycarbonate Rooflight Sizes
This opening rooflight is available in standard sizes to suit common roof openings.
Lengths mm: 600, 750, 900, 1050, 1200, 1350, 1500, 1650, 1800
Widths mm: 600, 750, 900, 1050, 1200, 1350, 1500
Smaller sizes are typically used in offices, corridors, and service areas where controlled daylight is required.
Larger sizes are commonly used in warehouses, factories, and open plan spaces where higher daylight levels are needed.
The selected size should allow sufficient daylight while maintaining roof structure and spacing requirements.
For multiple rooflights, spacing should be planned to provide even light distribution across the area.
Glazing Options
Different glazing options are available to suit insulation and building use.
1. Single skin polycarbonate - Used in unheated buildings where insulation is not required.
2. Double skin polycarbonate - Used in lightly heated buildings to reduce heat loss and condensation.
3. Triple skin polycarbonate - Used where improved thermal performance is required with good daylight levels.
4. Quad skin polycarbonate - Used where higher insulation and added impact resistance are required.
Tint Options
Tint options are used to control light levels and glare.
1. Clear polycarbonate - Used where high light transmission is required.
2. Opal finish - Used to diffuse light and reduce glare.
3. Patterned finish - Used where diffused light and added privacy are required.
Shape Options
The rooflight is available in two low profile shapes to suit different roof layouts.
1. Low rise dome - Used for general flat roof applications.
2. Low rise pyramid - Used where wider light spread is required across internal spaces.
Kerb Options
Kerb options are available to suit different roof constructions and waterproofing requirements.
1. Installation onto a builders upstand - Used where an existing upstand is already in place, commonly on refurbishment projects.
2. 150mm PVC kerb - Used for standard flat roof build ups where a suitable waterproofing height is required.
3. 300mm PVC kerb - Used where thicker insulation or increased waterproofing height is required.
Opening Options
Opening options allow different levels of control based on roof height and frequency of use.
1. Manual opening - Used where the rooflight is within reach and only occasional opening is required.
2. Powered opening with wall switch - Used where regular operation is required and simple fixed control is preferred.
3. Powered opening with remote control - Used where the rooflight is out of reach or where easier access is required.
4. Powered opening with remote control and rain sensor - Used where automatic closing is required during rainfall.
Ventilation Options
Ventilation options are used to control airflow without fully opening the rooflight.
1. Manual trickle vent rooflight - Provides controlled background ventilation to help manage heat build up and air movement.
