Flat Glass Rooflight Fixed

The Brett Martin Flat Glass Rooflight is a double glazed rooflight designed to introduce natural daylight into flat roof spaces. The flat glass design provides a clean external appearance while allowing clear views of the sky from inside the building.

This rooflight uses double glazed glass within a powder-coated aluminium frame to deliver strong structural performance and good thermal efficiency. The laminated inner pane provides additional protection for overhead glazing installations.

The system is suitable for residential and commercial buildings, including flat roof extensions, kitchens, living spaces, and refurbishment projects where additional daylight is required.

The rooflight is available in a range of standard rectangular sizes designed to suit common flat roof openings.

Frame Construction

The rooflight uses a thermally isolated aluminium frame designed for flat roof glazing.

The aluminium frame is powder coated and provides strong structural support while maintaining a slim profile around the glass. This allows the rooflight to deliver maximum daylight into the room below while maintaining durability in exposed roof conditions.

The frame design also helps reduce heat transfer through the structure, supporting improved thermal performance.

Glass Specification

The rooflight uses a double glazed insulated glass unit designed for overhead glazing.

Each glass unit includes:

- 6 mm toughened outer pane

- Argon filled cavity

- Laminated inner pane with Low-E coating

The toughened outer pane provides resistance against external impact and weather exposure. The laminated inner pane helps hold the glass together if damaged, providing additional protection for occupants below the rooflight.

Low-E glass helps reduce heat loss through the rooflight while maintaining good daylight transmission.

Installation

The rooflight is designed for installation onto a builders upstand as part of a flat roof construction.

Flat glass rooflights typically require a minimum roof pitch of around 2° to allow rainwater to drain correctly from the glazing surface.

This installation method is commonly used on new flat roof extensions as well as refurbishment projects.
